Sabres Exploring Twitter, New Gametime Experiences
2Ted Black is quickly becoming one of the most popular members of the Sabres organization.
In his latest fan chat, Black engaged the fans and their questions, offering insight into projects and season prospects, and sometimes just showing fans his down to earth sense of humor.
Of the myriad of subjects he touched upon, the gametime experience was one that kept popping up. It’s something that the Sabres are working on to improve, both in and out of the rink. Here’s a quick pictorial recap of what he revealed on that experience during the chat.

And it's been glorious. Thank you, Derek Roy (@Roy9ner), for introducing us all to words like "deliciosis" on the Twitter.
Public disclosure: as of September 8th, 1:20 pm EST I am tragically striking the word “hip” from my lexicon.
That being said, I’m intrigued by how the Sabres will engage social media while out on their international roadie. As I’ve touched upon before, Sabres fans living outside the WNY area would love to have a closer relationship with their team – especially on gamenights.
That previous post I just linked to was met with both positive and negative enthusiasm, but enthusiasm nonetheless. The explosion and popularity of social media cannot be ignored; it will be a fixture of free advertising for teams and a resource of closer connections for fans.
I’m sure the Sabres will find the right balance for the use of social media for fans here and abroad on gamenights. Whatever it is they have in store, well, we’ll have a preview during the euro-trip, when we will all suddenly be experiencing what it feels like to be a fan living away from the team.
If you’re not on the Twitter now, well I suggest you sign up. This should be a lot of fun.
Go Sabres.
